Artist's Description

Along the Rio Grande there are many wonderful little villages and towns engaged in farming. The patterned tapestry of fruit trees and farm to table produce happily thriving in the rich soil always makes me smile. I am so aware of the sky and river when I am in this area. The thunderhead clouds of summer mornings giving way to afternoon monsoonal rains, that fill up the arroyo's and river beds. Out in these beautiful back country areas, the whistling wind and gurgling river keep up a sunny conversation as they tumble through the land of enchantment.

Cathy Carey

Contemporary Expressive Colorist Cathy Carey was born in Washington, DC. and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She was educated at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, and received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Several years later Carey moved to Southern California and continued painting, and started a business in graphic design and illustration. She works in all media’s including Photoshop to create images. She currently maintains a studio and teaches workshops in San Diego, CA and Santa Fe, NM., and has taught at the Art Institute of CA in San Diego.
