We had so much fun with this dog at Chimayo! She acted like the ambassador of congeniality, and we each enjoyed our special time with her. Below is a fun pic Stephen took of me sketching and getting an enthusiastic greeting of face licks.
Chimayo is a magical and holy place. One of spiritual rejuvenation and hope. It is called the Lourdes of the Southwest. I am always filled with the wonder of possibility and hope when I journey here. I don't know if it comes from the dirt as the legend goes, or from the people who come here with open hearts looking for a miracle and sometimes finding it.
About Cathy Carey
Contemporary Expressive Colorist Cathy Carey was born in Washington, DC. and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She was educated at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, and received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Several years later Carey moved to Southern California and continued painting, and started a business in graphic design and illustration. She works in all media’s including Photoshop to create images. She currently maintains a studio and teaches workshops in San Diego, CA and Santa Fe, NM., and has taught at the Art Institute of CA in San Diego.
