Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

On one of my trips to Taos I had the good fortune to stay at a lovely place with a walled garden, with an apple tree with lovely turquoise gates and aspens trees. I was in heaven! I sketched the garden every morning and this painting came from several of these sketches.
My purpose with my painting is to express how a place feels to me, not just how it looks. I make changes to the color to heighten the emotional feeling of a place so the viewer can experience what I felt in that space.
Contemporary Expressive Colorist Cathy Carey was born in Washington, DC. and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She was educated at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, and received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Several years later Carey moved to Southern California and continued painting, and started a business in graphic design and illustration. She works in all media’s including Photoshop to create images. She currently maintains a studio and teaches workshops in San Diego, CA and Santa Fe, NM., and has taught at the Art Institute of CA in San Diego.
