Description
The lovely Sangre de Christo mountains lit up with the setting sun was the inspiration for the image in this one. The mesa plateau shape on the left with the valley below, and the hidden adobe in the trees are things that are so unique to this area of the southwest. I used some of my blind contour drawings of piñon pines, juniper and chamisa for the vegetation in the front. This is another in the series of paintings named after Syd Masters song "Under New Mexico Skies".
