In this painting there is an owl flying by, over the beach. The sky tells you that the sun has set, and the owl is ready to make it's journey for the night. The colors in the fore ground and the colors of the owl are to be the focal point, as everything in the background is slowly developing shadows from the upcoming moonlight.
This painting is an oil on linen with one inch stretcher bars, wired for hanging on the back. A Roma black matte frame is available for $150.
Contemporary Expressive Colorist Cathy Carey was born in Washington, DC. and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She was educated at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, and received a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Several years later Carey moved to Southern California and continued painting, and started a business in graphic design and illustration. She works in all media’s including Photoshop to create images. She currently maintains a studio and teaches workshops in San Diego, CA and Santa Fe, NM., and has taught at the Art Institute of CA in San Diego.
